About

Mr. Gitlin has had extensive experience over the past 40 years in areas of law including estate administration, criminal law, residential and commercial real estate, bankruptcy, estate planning, landlord tenant and debt collection. He is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, and has served as chair of the Monroe County Professional Performance Committee which oversees complaints brought against attorneys. In addition he has served on the New York State 4th Department Grievance Committee which oversees more serious attorney disciplinary proceedings.

While Mr. Gitlin continues to engage in estate planning, estate administration and real estate transactions, his focus has been representing plaintiffs in privately held mortgage foreclosures, and representing New York State Licenced Lenders in the collection of consumer debts in upstate New York. Significant is his willingness to listen to consumers, and fashioning settlements that are within the frameworks established by his clients.

He has lectured on behalf of the New York State Bar Association and National Business Institute on collection practice, mortgage foreclosures, and the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practice Act.
