Trevett Cristo fielded a team of 20 participants in this year’s Rochester Heart Walk on April 22. The event raised approximately $400,000, which goes to support heart disease and stroke research, advocacy, and education. The Heart Walk was just one of 305 events in the United States held to fundraise for these causes, with over 8,000 participants walking through the City of Rochester to show their support for the American Heart Association.

Trevett Partner Bill LaForte, who is Chairman of the American Heart Association’s Northeast Founders Affiliate Board of Directors, said, “This year’s Heart Walk was a tremendous success and I want to thank all those from our firm who participated in the walk, as well as those who ran!” The Northeast Founders Affiliate is comprised of eight states in the northeast region.

LaForte has been involved with the American Heart Association for over 12 years, serving on the Rochester Regional Board for almost 10 years and as its Chair from 2012-2014. His passion and involvement in the organization stem from his numerous connections to heart disease and stroke. LaForte understands that most people have been affected by heart disease or stroke, whether it be themselves, their families or friends.
