Rochester, NY, June 19, 2017 - Trevett Cristo P.C., a general practice law firm that has been serving the Greater Rochester area for over 90 years, is proud to announce that Bill LaForte has been named Chairman of the American Heart Association’s Founders Affiliate Board of Directors. LaForte, who was inaugurated this past weekend, will be the Chair of the Affiliate Board for a two-year term. This affiliate board serves the Northeast region of the U.S., covering eight states.

LaForte has been involved with the American Heart Association for over 12 years, serving on the Rochester Regional Board for almost 10 years and as its Chair from 2012-2014. His passion and involvement in the organization stems from his numerous connections to heart disease and stroke. LaForte notes that most people have been affected by heart disease or stroke, whether it be themselves, their families or friends

“Providing education and working hard to make our communities healthier is so important and it’s why I am committed to this organization,” explains LaForte. “ My family and close friends have all experienced instances of stroke and heart disease, and I want to aid in the cause to help reduce the incidence of these events in the future for our community.”

Over the course of his career, LaForte has committed countless hours to community organizations across the Greater Rochester area. In addition to the AHA Rochester Board, LaForte has served on several other boards including the Ronald McDonald House, the Memorial Art Gallery, Oak Hill Country Club and the Genesee Valley Club. He also served on the Board and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sojourner House.

“Bill is not only an accomplished and talented lawyer and member of our team, but his dedication to the betterment of our community proves he is a truly inspiring individual,” says Louis Cristo, president of Trevett Cristo.

LaForte has practiced real estate law in both New York and Florida, and has received many awards for his work, including being selected for Best Lawyers in America (2011-2017) and “Lawyer of the Year” (2015) for Commercial Real Estate Law, and for Super Lawyers for many years. He has also received the United Way of Greater Rochester Community Investor award, among others. LaForte is dedicated to continuing education for both the community and area lawyers as well, and speaks at various events each year for the Bar Associations and the Community Association’s Institute of Western New York.
LaForte is Trevett Cristo’s principal commercial real estate attorney, with extensive experience in both commercial and residential real estate matters. He largely focuses on counseling real estate developers, businesses and condominiums and homeowners’ associations.
