Trevett Cristo is pleased to announce a favorable arbitration outcome involving two members of the Rochester Regional Joint Board/Workers United (RRJB). In this hard-fought decision, Partner, Joseph Gawlowicz was able to secure two members return to work after their termination for alleged theft was determined unjust. The grievants were employees of a hotel in Schenectady. The allegations involved theft of a garbage bag full of linens that had been designated unusable. The hotel had a rule that all employees must seek permission before taking any hotel property. This decision is significant because it highlights that all employees must be mindful of employer rules and not become lax in following them, even over seemingly insignificant things. Strong advocacy from the union and its counsel, Trevett Cristo, helped secure this recent victory.
